Great ideas come across in moments of levity, and discussions unrelated to music can be helpful in the creative process.

Spontaneity is a great thing — how the first bursts of ideas are the best because they’re extremely raw they cut across in a very daunting manner….

My Top 10 Random Filipino Music Moments of 2011

I must say it was pretty difficult to decide on which ones since there are so many wonderful moments that always happen when you’re surrounded by great musicians. I wanted to do an EVERYTHING Highlight of 2011, but decided to just separate them all into different categories, and the easiest for me to pick were the random ones.

These are my personal choices, based on how each event affected me. I’m sure each one of us have our own highlights, but these are the ones which are relevant to me and which I saw with my own eyes.

A show within a show: Red Horse Beer Muziklaban judges table.

Niño Avenido, TJ Brillantes, Ian Tayao, Reg Rubio, Audie Avenido being all goofy at the judges tent. Don’t get me wrong, they’re all very serious when listening to the finalists, but the few minutes they’re just waiting it’s a marathon of jokes.

It’s like a small stand-up comedy competition amongst themselves bringing an entirely new level to showmanship.

The Grand Finals will be held in Aseana City, Macapagal Avenue this January 28, 2012!

Celebrate ‘Like Royalty’ in Capone’s

Club owner Jay Server organized a party for me last Monday because of winning best photo blog at the recent Philippine Blog Awards. I actually don’t know why there was a part 2 since we already celebrated when Francis and I went to Capone’s last saturday (a celebration which ended at 6:30 in the morning), but he told me that I really deserved the celebration. Awww.

There was buffet, a karaoke band called Semipro. I still haven’t recovered from the weekend’s rollercoaster events and was ready for a simple and relatively quiet get together, until a large group of people arrived.

It was Australian band LIKE ROYALTY, who apparently WILL BE OPENING FOR PARKWAY DRIVE this Friday. They took over the stage and played a couple of songs. Later on they jammed with Semipro and sang the songs they like.

I didn’t bring a camera as I was still overwhelmed with all the photos I need to post in this blog, good thing my friend Haw brought his camera. Although I really feel bad borrowing other people’s camera’s, Haw was kind enough to lend it to me. I feel like every click I take is like wasting time in the movie In Time, LOL. He also took photos of me in this album. Thank you! :D :D :D

There was actually a showdown between Jay and the singer. Jay won by default of course being the owner of the bar. Haha.

Niño Avenido of Greyhoundz. He was at the Red Horse Rakrakan event to play bass for Franco since Buwi’s in the States.

I told him to crouch down a bit so the light ends up on his face.

Despite my efforts, I can’t take a serious photo of him, haha! Parang pang pinoy horror movie tuloy.

I bought my 70-200 f4 lens from him which he borrows from time to time.

He showed me his new camera where he could easily take sniper paparazzi shots with the rotating lcd. Coolness.
