My Top 10 Random Filipino Music Moments of 2011

I must say it was pretty difficult to decide on which ones since there are so many wonderful moments that always happen when you’re surrounded by great musicians. I wanted to do an EVERYTHING Highlight of 2011, but decided to just separate them all into different categories, and the easiest for me to pick were the random ones.

These are my personal choices, based on how each event affected me. I’m sure each one of us have our own highlights, but these are the ones which are relevant to me and which I saw with my own eyes.

The Itchyworms turns 15

The Itchyworms celebrated their 15th anniversary as a band last Friday November 25, 2011 in Metrobar.

I was fortunate enough to be there early and photograph the run through and hang out with the band and their guests backstage. :)

MORE PHOTOS HERE!!!

Really loving the part when Jazz Nicolas came out with a towel on his head for the encore of the Itchyworms’ 15th anniversary concert. (25 November 2011)

8.1.11 The Itchyworms earlier tonight.

They had a taping for a show near my house so Francis and I decided to drop by. I took a couple of photos of them performing and before they left, I wanted to take a photo of them by the lovely streets of Malate, but the rain started to pour so we only came up with this. Everything was impromptu. Haha. You know me, if I have my camera with me I’ll shoot.

I learned a lot from them today, like what “ANG DAMI NA NIYA” meant. Also they told me what “Churchy” songs sounded like. Apparently, it’s spelled “Churchee” if you get what I mean. Sobrang saya lang! The few moments I do get to hang out with these guys it’s always a blast!

We also had them tell us the story of how Kelvin got to hang out and take photos with Incubus recently. So envious! Haha!

Thank you to Chino for telling me where your taping is!!

I’m pretty sure I’ll be taking more photos of them, soon!
