Warner Music Philippines Christmas party.
Having fun with the people I work with in the industry. I have been present in almost all their parties since 2005. Haha. This time around I was told no cameras allowed.
Good for me too, because I DON’T EVEN REMEMBER HALF OF WHAT I DID and what happened.
WHYYYYYY?!?!?! I should’ve taken note why the event was called Run for Cover…. haha
Merry Christmas!!!
Celebrate ‘Like Royalty’ in Capone’s

Club owner Jay Server organized a party for me last Monday because of winning best photo blog at the recent Philippine Blog Awards. I actually don’t know why there was a part 2 since we already celebrated when Francis and I went to Capone’s last saturday (a celebration which ended at 6:30 in the morning), but he told me that I really deserved the celebration. Awww.
There was buffet, a karaoke band called Semipro. I still haven’t recovered from the weekend’s rollercoaster events and was ready for a simple and relatively quiet get together, until a large group of people arrived.

It was Australian band LIKE ROYALTY, who apparently WILL BE OPENING FOR PARKWAY DRIVE this Friday. They took over the stage and played a couple of songs. Later on they jammed with Semipro and sang the songs they like.

I didn’t bring a camera as I was still overwhelmed with all the photos I need to post in this blog, good thing my friend Haw brought his camera. Although I really feel bad borrowing other people’s camera’s, Haw was kind enough to lend it to me. I feel like every click I take is like wasting time in the movie In Time, LOL. He also took photos of me in this album. Thank you! :D :D :D

There was actually a showdown between Jay and the singer. Jay won by default of course being the owner of the bar. Haha.
More photos below.
SO MUCH FUN. Friends are your fuel to keep on doing what you love when coffee doesn’t seem to work anymore. All the more awesome when they’re people you respect and admire and all from the same industry.
There was just so much work the past few weeks / months that I arrived at this party with heavy eyes resisting the temptation to put my head on the table and sleep. But that cup of coffee I drank at MikeE and She’s beautiful new house totally turned me around. I was hyper / manic like a drunk on Red Bull that I think Mark left our table because I was talking too much. I was really noisy.
the combination of caffeine + company of crazy friends was extraordinary haha
and then I crashed again.
Hahahahaha!
September 29, 2005 | BAMBOO
What you’re about to read was written by the 22-year old version of me in my old blog in Livejournal. I think, if you see most entries about Bamboo in this blog, I really give myself away and STOP being professional and start becoming a gushing fan, which I think would make me lose any possibility of working with him (yes, i’ve said that so many times). Also the fact that sometimes I lose so much sense in my sentences because of too much excitement.
I guess you can say it’s an “artistic crush” like how Quentin Tarantino usually refers to it.

Last night during Bamboo’s first performance in the Philippines in front of almost 80,000 people at the Tanduay Rhum Rock Fest, I remembered that fan in me when I first started working in music and realized that the reason why I am here, is because of people like him.
I saw him the night before they announced the band was breaking up at Mark Escueta’s birthday party. I didn’t understand the meaning of ‘It’s not goodbye’, but last night with an orchestra and awesome musicians to back him up, I saw him perform here for the first time since.
As a photographer, selecting photos require a sense of detachment for you to be able to choose what photographs you get to show the world. To be honest, I am having trouble choosing. I am human after all and a music fan at that, sometimes a little too much. Sometimes maybe I can be a little creepy sounding, but I know what fans feel and every single time I see Bamboo I am reminded of my beginnings as an artist who works for music and I don’t think it’ll ever go away.
Now let’s travel back in time with an entry I wrote 6 years ago….
.
At the Leon Guinto, Malate branch of 8065 Bagnet (yes, my hood). Kitchie and I talking about, according to Haw, “what girls usually talk about” and other stuff that can’t be posted online lest we want to disappear for the rest of our remaining lives, haha!
Kidding!
I came straight to Bagnet around midnight last night after a wedding in Greenhills (where James Iha’s song “No One’s Gonna Hurt You” became an obsession of mine). l think closing the restaurant and brutally honest statements became the highlight of the night, haha!
Thank you Haw for the picture! Why is my nose pink?!
What happened to me at the Identity Crisis reunion event.
Three things:
1. My hair went up in flames from too much hairspray. I tried to put as much volume to my hair for the new wave event I was about to attend so I piled it all on! I kid you not, I was lighting up a cigarette when it just BURST INTO FLAMES (as described by Japs who was panicking right beside me) while I was slapping my forehead. I have shorter bangs now.
2. After that incident, i could not light up any cigarette without having Japs do it for me first. Not ever, it was too scary and my hair, too dangerous, haha! FUCK YOU SPRAYNET.
3. Photo above. :)
