My Top 11 Best Gigs of 2011
Posted on December 31, 2011

A great gig for me doesn’t always produce a great photo. But when the moment is there, sometimes it’ll just naturally come across in the pictures. Like my last post of Top 10 Random Music Moments, this post is personal and features just some concerts that I’ve attended which were memorable to me.
I heard the new Red Hot Chili Peppers album is out today under Warner Music. I’m going to go and check the record store later, but if it’s not there yet, then I’m going to go check again tomorrow! LOL
I’m so excited, so I’ll share my excitement with you. Here are a couple of photos I took of Red Hot Chili Peppers in Hong Kong last August 9. Can’t believe that soon it’ll be almost a month since this gig.
Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Anthony Kiedis @RHCP_official @chilipeppers tonight in Hong Kong! #rhcp
He said something like, Hello Hong Kong, it’s great to be here. *pause* Can I hear a little something from the Filipinos, please!”
During their set, I got pushed and elbowed because bouncers were trying to rescue people by the front row, haha! I didn’t feel a thing and kept on shooting. I asked Francis if he was pushed in any way, he said he wasn’t. But it’s all good, that’s what adrenaline is for, no pain!
I’ll wait to post more photos when they get published. I’m saving the better ones for that, but here’s one for now, to all my friends back in Manila who missed this epic show!
Hong Kong is like Holy Week in Boracay!
I also heard that they announced that I’m nominated in the 1st ever Globe Tattoo Awards in THE ARTISTE Category. This is awesome. I’m just thankful when people recognize that what I do is an artform and being nominated is a victory in itself!
This is such a wonderful night I can’t even imagine how to begin how to tell you guys. I am so grateful, just grateful.
Now, off to meet some friends for a night of celebration!
