My 2nd Album Cover Art: Monologue Whispers by Japsuki

It’s my second time to be commissioned to work on album cover. I’ve always wanted to do this. The first one happened around the same time last year for The Camerawalls.
This year, Japs Sergio asked me to make one and allowed me to do WHATEVER I WANT!!! Hahaha best job ever!
I’m no expert at this but I’m really thankful these musicians have trusted me enough to take a chance at this sort of thing. As much as possible I want it to be an actual photograph.
The environment above is from an ACTUAL PHOTO. Thank you to Gelo Lagasca of the Lowtechs for helping us out with layout and graphic design.
Check out the larger, square version of the cover design below and also how the photo was made.

Japs dropped by last night and Francis, him and I did not notice that we’ve all been talking for 6 hours straight while celebrating this highlight of his life. It was the first time he saw the actual installation which I made for a month (and have no idea what to do with it now)

After I took this photo this morning. it just collapsed. Haha. It actually looked better when it was newly made.
Everyone kept saying that their first impression was it was underwater. We were joking about it last night that I should post a photo that I have of myself in dive gear underwater and claim that I created this inside a swimming pool OR I immersed the whole thing and took a photo of it (WITH LIGHTS) in water. HAHAHAHA. WILD.
Japs was trying to take a photo of me with it for scale. It’s probably 3 a little over feet high. There are reasons for the kind of materials used as well as the techniques used to take the photo. Thank you to teacher Kerin for helping me make the set when I thought I was going to run out of time! Lifesaver!
I was inside the box shooting with really thick smoke using a ton of incense so the light would be more pronounced. All sides of this box had tiny holes in them which with much POWER I stabbed it with that tool you use to carve holes before you insert screws (similar to an ice-pick) until I was satisfied. I had to use REALLY STRONG LIGHTS and it was HOT!!!
Any album cover is always inspired by the music presented to you. I’m telling you that I tried my best to relay the greatness of Japs music to the cover, but I don’t think it could come close. I really like what he did in there.

He’s allowing people to order from his facebook page or email japs@steadylang.com Try your best to get a copy before it runs out. I was looking at the actual thing last night and couldn’t stop staring at it.
Thank you Japs!
